Our People & Corporate Services division includes a wide variety of teams, including People & Culture, Health Safety & Environment, Communications & Customer Engagement, and Business IT. Weโre looking to appoint a new Trainee to our Central Administration team, supporting the division through a range of administrative and customer service activities!
What will I be doing?
Starting in Reception for the first three months, youโll be meeting and greeting visitors, providing security access cards, scheduling transport, answering phones and providing customer service all the visitors that come to Powerlink. This could include members of Government, company representatives, members of the public or new employees!
You may also spend some time in the Mail Room, liaising with couriers, supporting with mail distribution, archiving and advising employees of their deliveries. Youโll also be trained in Financial Administration, Travel Bookings, Uniform & Stationary Ordering, Catering and assisting with functions and events throughout the year.
Youโll start work at 8:15am โ 5PM with 30 minutes for a lunch break. Thereโs plenty of free parking on site, or you can walk from Virginia Train Station!
Do I have what it takes?
Weโre looking for a warm, friendly and organised self-starter whoโs a good team-player and who loves providing great customer service. Youโll have good time management, great people skills, and be motivated by helping others. Youโll have finished Year 12 and have an interest in working in a corporate or administrative environment.
Whilst you wonโt need any administration experience, you will need to have a passion for learning and acquiring new skills and be open to feedback. Some days will be varied, some days may feel repetitive โ weโre looking for somebody who wantโs long-term development and appreciates the opportunities available to them once they finish!

Youโll be paid as an Administration Trainee under the Federal Miscellaneous Award and work 38 hours p/week. Youโll also have access to:
