About the Role:

Holden Knight Healthcare is proud to partner with a forward-thinking local council in Surrey, seeking an experienced and dedicated Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join their mental health services team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to play a crucial role in safeguarding and promoting the mental well-being of individuals within the community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake statutory duties as an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) under the Mental Health Act, ensuring that all legal requirements are met.
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments and coordinate the necessary arrangements for individuals requiring compulsory admission to hospital or other mental health services.
  • Work collaboratively with a range of professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and mental health nurses, to develop and implement care plans that prioritize the safety and well-being of service users.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on mental health legislation and procedures to colleagues and partner agencies.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all assessments, decisions, and actions taken in line with council policies and legal standards.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of mental health services within the council.
  • Support the development and mentoring of junior staff and AMHP trainees, sharing expertise and best practices.
What Weโ€™re Looking For:
  • Qualified Social Worker, Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or other relevant professional with current registration and AMHP accreditation.
  • Extensive experience in mental health services, with a strong understanding of mental health legislation, including the Mental Health Act and related guidance.
  • Exceptional assessment and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage complex and high-pressure situations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the rights and well-being of individuals with mental health needs.
  • Flexibility and resilience, with the ability to respond to emergencies and work outside of normal hours when required.

Pay: ยฃ46,000.00-ยฃ49,500.00 per year
