Assistant Controller

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our team at CureMD. This position is for an Accountant/Auditor that has been part of a financial accounting team in a corporate setting or from an accounting or consulting firm whose clients consisted of some SaaS companies. The Assistant Controller will be a hands-on US GAAP or IFRS accountant that assists the Senior Director of Finance in matching revenues and expenses, reporting balances, trends and performance and performing internal control tests as needed and with minimum disruption to the ongoing day-to-day operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assists with monthly/quarterly/annual closings of financial statements in accordance with GAAP regulations ensuring an accurate and timely close.
  • Processes assigned groups of accounts payables for approval, vendor invoice set up and payment utilizing both QuickBooks and NetSuite as needed.
  • Prepares monthly expense accruals and account reconciliations in coordination with Staff Accountant.
  • Monthly general ledger entries for several balance sheet accounts (prepaid amortizations & accruals) in QuickBooks or NetSuite.
  • Inputs monthly general ledger entries for adjustments (reclasses, reversals).
  • Handles internal auditing/approval/processing workflow for vendor expense accounts and reporting of variances versus budget and prior year.
  • Performs P&L comparisons and explanations of variances and trends.
  • Assists Staff Accountant with corporate credit cards expense categorization to ensure accuracy & timely reporting.
  • Processes bi-weekly payroll reporting from our PEO, Insperity, to the general ledger.
  • Spearheads governmental affairs reporting related to business registrations, annual reports, Secretary of State compliance, NEXUS and Sales Tax compliance.
  • Communicates to outside third-party CPA firm regarding quarterly and year-end tax preparation.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Prior experience using NetSuite and Chase.com banking platform a plus.
  • Experience working with trial balance reports and other information for tax return preparations (1120โ€™s, 1099โ€™s etc.).
  • Knowledge of profit-sharing models and Employee Stock Ownership plans.
  • Knowledge of capital financing and investor relations.
  • Experience working with international vendors, including currency exchange calculations, conversions and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration across departments and with senior leadership.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary range $120,000 – $140,000.
