Assistant Director of Nursing and Clinical Practice

Job Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Midlands Nursing Directorate and the Clinical Practice Team as the Assistant Director of Nursing & Clinical Practice.

The postholder will play a vital role in supporting the work of the Nursing Directorate with a particular focus on the professional aspects of the long-term workforce plan, priorities set by the Chief Nursing Officer for England, Safe Staffing initiatives, Professional Nurse Advocacy, and workforce productivity.

Key responsibilities include:

Acting as a regional champion for Clinical Practice Team programs.

Providing professional and clinical leadership in workforce development and safe staffing.

Coordinating workforce intelligence to support quality surveillance.

Driving the implementation of transformation programs across the region.

Collaborating with NHSE Workforce, Training, and Education Directorate as well as other key stakeholders to deliver results aligned with national and regional goals.

The Assistant Director will contribute to the strategic direction and provide leadership to ensure that workforce initiatives positively impact patient care, staff well-being, and service delivery.
