Currently we have an Associate Technical Writer role open. As the Associate Technical Writer, you will generate complete and accurate Parts Manuals, Service Manuals, and other Technical Literature and provide support to other departments within the organization.
Essential functions of the position include:
- Research engineering orders, drawings, and bills of materials to understand project requirements
- Create text and illustrations required to accurately depict project requirements
- Create/format concise technical literature based on project requirements
- Make all necessary corrections/improvements to technical literature based on review of preliminary draft
- Procure information from vendors required to meet project requirements
- Assist in maintaining ISO documents for operations manuals
- Publish technical literature for final review and distribution
- Accurately assign service part numbers (3#’s) for vendor related items
- Assist with history research to identify and make necessary revisions/updated to existing literature
- Assist with supporting parts and service departments
- Assisting in maintaining completion schedules
- Prepare an accurate monthly report summarizing hours spent on projects and completions.
- Support supervision in meeting production requirements and perform other duties as assigned
General qualifications for this role:
- 2-year college degree
- Program of Study in Mechanical or Drafting Technology, CAD< Technical Writing or equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience writing, publications, communications, and/or CAD experience relating to complex mechanical components preferably in the heavy equipment industry
