Job Overview

The Band 5 Communications Officer will work closely with the head of communications and the internal communications manager to deliver effective internal communications and engagement services across the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust (RFL). This role involves managing internal campaigns, building relationships within the trust, and delivering consistent, engaging messaging that aligns with the organization’s vision, values, and priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation: Produce engaging content for internal channels, such as newsletters, intranet news, and staff publications.

Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with staff across the trust, communicating complex information in a clear, motivating way.

Campaigns & Projects: Work on diverse internal campaigns, balancing priorities and tight deadlines.

Event Organization: Organize staff briefing sessions, including monthly CEO briefings as an event producer on MS Teams.

Evaluation & Reporting: Conduct measurement and evaluation, making evidence-based recommendations to enhance communications.

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate should have a relevant degree or equivalent experience, with proven skills in communications, preferably in a healthcare or public sector setting. Strong writing skills, attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to quickly interpret complex information are essential.
