Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Computer Network and Systems Engineer to join our team at Finity. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our computer networks and systems to ensure seamless and secure operations. This includes managing our network infrastructure, servers, firewalls, routers, switches, and other network devices to support our business operations and meet our client’s needs. The Computer Network and Systems Engineer will also collaborate with other IT professionals and business stakeholders to identify and implement network and system improvements, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical support to end users.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain the company’s computer networks and systems to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security.
- Manage network infrastructure, including servers, firewalls, routers, switches, and other network devices, to ensure smooth operations and data integrity.
- Collaborate with IT team members and business stakeholders to understand requirements and implement network and system solutions that align with business goals.
- Monitor network and system performance, identify and resolve issues, and implement preventive measures to minimize downtime and mitigate risks.
- Implement and maintain network security measures, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls, to safeguard against unauthorized access and data breaches.
- Conduct regular network and system audits to assess performance, security, and compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Provide technical support to end-users, diagnose and resolve network and system issues, and respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, best practices, and technologies related to computer networks and systems, and make recommendations for improvements to enhance the company’s IT infrastructure.
- Document network and system configurations, changes, and incident resolutions, and maintain an accurate inventory of network devices and software licenses.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Computer Network and Systems Engineer, preferably in the financial services industry.
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, including LAN, WAN, VPN, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, switching, and wireless networking.
- Hands-on experience with network devices, such as firewalls, routers, switches, load balancers, and network management tools.
- Experience with network security, including implementing and maintaining firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.
- Proven experience with Windows Server and Windows desktop operating systems essential. Familiarity with other server operating systems such as Linux is preferable.
- Proven experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V Essential.
- Proven experience administering Microsoft cloud services (M365, Office365) essential.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve network and system issues in a timely manner.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with IT team members, business stakeholders, and end-users.
- Relevant certifications, such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), are preferred but not required.
