Job Overview:
This role offers an opportunity to join the PARRT (Patient at Risk Response Team) at Barnet Hospital, providing a 24/7 critical care service across the hospital. The team responds to all adult, pediatric, and obstetric emergency calls, supports clinical staff with the management of high-acuity patients, and conducts follow-ups on ICU step-down patients. The role also includes responsibility for tracheostomy patient care and facilitating multidisciplinary (MDT) discussions for complex cases. Additionally, the PARRT team delivers educational programs and quality improvement initiatives related to deteriorating patient care and resuscitation.
Main Responsibilities:
Support nurses and junior doctors with the management of high-acuity patients at the ward level.
Attend all emergency calls for adult, pediatric, and obstetric cases.
Conduct reviews for ICU step-down patients, ensuring a smooth transition to ward care.
Manage tracheostomy patient care and participate in MDT discussions for complex cases.
Deliver Basic Life Support training to Trust staff.
Participate in quality improvement projects focused on patient safety and effective deterioration management.
Engage with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure a cohesive approach to care.

Requirements:
Essential: Registered Nurse, undergraduate degree, recognized teaching/mentorship qualification, advanced assessment skills, post-registration qualification relevant to the specialty.
Desirable: Master’s degree or working toward, independent nurse prescribing (or willingness to undertake), experience in line management, nurse-led clinics.
