Job Title: Deputy Director of Equipping
Location: Any NHSE office, National
Salary: £105,385 – £121,271 per annum (excluding HCAS)
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours per week)

The Deputy Director of Equipping is a senior leadership role within the New Hospital Programme, responsible for developing and delivering equipment strategies across NHS Trusts. This role ensures the safe, effective, and efficient use of resources while supporting the operational and strategic objectives of the programme. The post holder will work closely with stakeholders to co-create standards, tools, and guides that ensure safer hospitals are built and equipped for the future.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing and delivering equipment strategy across the programme
Managing risks and ensuring progress across the Programme and Trusts
Promoting and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders
Implementing governance processes for team performance and best practice sharing
Providing leadership and mentoring to a high-performing team
Qualifications:
Educated to master’s level or equivalent experience in a senior specialist area
Experience:
Significant senior leadership experience within an NHS hospital build programme
Experience in equipping and managing risk in hospital environments
Proven track record of delivering projects and services on time
