The Deputy Postgraduate Dean role within NHS England Midlands focuses on providing regional and local leadership for high-quality cross-specialty and multi-professional training. Reporting to the Postgraduate Dean, the position emphasizes improving patient and learner safety, enhancing the educational experience, and ensuring effective training outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing and supporting Heads of Specialty Schools.

Addressing professional standards and performance issues of doctors in training.

Leading the local implementation of national medical education programs.

Engaging in medical education reforms and delivering initiatives such as the distribution and expansion program.

The role requires a skilled clinician with extensive experience in healthcare education and strong leadership capabilities to collaborate effectively within multi-professional teams.

This is a part-time, permanent role requiring 9 sessions per week (36 hours) and is open to secondment alongside existing NHS employment in the Midlands region. Flexible working arrangements may be considered, and NHS England provides support for visa sponsorship if applicable.
