Job Description
The NHS England South West Region is seeking an experienced Director of System Coordination to provide senior leadership within the System Oversight & Coordination directorate. This is a permanent, full-time leadership position with a salary starting from ยฃ100,000 annually. The role offers flexibility with office locations across Taunton, Plymouth, or Bristol, and the post-holder will be expected to manage and strengthen the relationships between NHS systems, commissioners, providers, and other local stakeholders.
As Director of System Coordination, you will:
Lead the relationship management efforts with Integrated Care Systems (ICS), ensuring all interactions and interventions align with the NHSโs broader goals.
Work closely with the Performance, Delivery, and Improvement teams, helping to integrate operational improvements with system transformation priorities.
Provide practical support in the development of integrated care models, enhancing the resilience and capabilities of health systems.
Guide local healthcare systems at various stages of maturity, helping them implement change, improve service delivery, and manage budgets effectively.
Ensure that healthcare systems achieve national performance standards while fostering innovation and sustainability within the healthcare delivery system.
This role will require significant experience in leading complex change initiatives and a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape, particularly within the NHS. The Director will collaborate with other senior leaders, including system directors and the NHS Finance and Performance Directors, to address strategic challenges.
Additionally, applicants should possess extensive experience in project management, healthcare leadership, and strategic transformation. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in managing large teams, influencing senior stakeholders, and leading large-scale health initiatives.
This is a crucial role that requires a dynamic leader capable of managing both political and operational challenges, driving transformation in the NHS, and helping integrate health and care services to benefit local populations.
