Your new role

Are you looking for an opportunity where you can contribute to preserving and nurturing our local Parks, Gardens and open spaces? Parks are currently looking for passionate Gardeners to join the Parks and Streetscapes team.

On a day-to-day basis you will complete general maintenance of high-profile irrigated parks and fields, including but not limited to mowing, whipper snipping weeding, mulching, blowing, spraying, irrigation, planting trees and shrubs and labouring.

Use your knowledge of horticulture and pesticides to control weeds, pests and diseases and ensure the region is maintained to a high horticultural standard.

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check – Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).

 

What we are looking for

  • Knowledge and experience in horticulture and open space maintenance in public parks or gardens environment.
  • Ability to safely operate and maintain small machinery including but not limited to tractors, mowers, brush cutters, chainsaws, blowers and other plant.
  • A motivated, proactive, self-starter with a passion to deliver quality horticulture works.
  • Someone who enjoys and is capable of physical and outdoor work.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Application Criteria

  • Demonstrated work experience within a similar horticultural environment and passion to deliver quality work.
  • Knowledge and experience with irrigation, safe operation of zero turn mowers, whipper snippers, blowers and adhering to WHS procedures.
  • A strong team player that demonstrates positive attitude and can work independently.
