The Health, Safety and Resilience team has the responsibility for maintaining the University safety management system and providing expert advice and assistance to support each School/Support Service in the implementation of the University and their own local health and safety arrangements.

The Assistant Director and Head of Health, Safety and Resilience will provide effective leadership in the development and implementation of the Universityโ€™s strategic approach to health, safety and wellbeing across the full range of institutional activities.

In particular, the Assistant Director and Head of Health, Safety and Resilience will play a key role in developing and implementing appropriate safety policies and procedures to ensure that the University continues to operate in a safe manner, in line with legislative requirements and recognised good practice guidelines and will work in partnership with colleagues in promoting a positive health, safety and wellbeing culture for our staff and students.

The Assistant Director and Head of Health, Safety and Resilience will provide effective leadership, guidance and mentoring support to colleagues in the promotion of both health and safety and resilience initiatives.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 8, ยฃ57,696 – ยฃ64,914 per annum, and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
