The Role

Reporting into the Marketing Director, the Head of Marketing is responsible for overseeing all brand-level treatment campaigns and managing the marketing team who deploy campaigns at a local level. This position plays a critical role in aligning brand messaging with the commercial needs of the business and ensuring effective execution across all marketing channels.

As a pivotal strategic leader within the organization, the Head of Marketing engages with senior stakeholders and business leaders to influence key business decisions and drive growth. The role demands confident management and leadership of a substantial multichannel marketing team, alongside fostering a collaborative working style across all parts of the marketing team and cross-functionally across Bupa Dental Care and the rest of the Bupa organization. Itโ€™s also a practice facing role, key in ensuring that our local marketing and central marketing efforts are completely aligned, with a practice focused mentality.

The Head of Marketing collaborates with colleagues in the Product, Operations and Practice teams, as well as the wider Marketing team, to ensure that all work is strategically aligned and effectively meets the operational goals.

Previous experience in a fast-paced service or retail environment is advantageous for overseeing the needs of our 380+ dental practices.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies that align with the overarching objectives of Bupa Dental Care.
  • Ensure robust marketing plans are in place for various treatment types and leverage campaigns across multiple brands to maximise impact.
  • Play an instrumental part in the business planning process each financial year with a recommended annual laydown based on targets, making a clear case for marketing investment and ROI to the Dental Exec Team.
  • Develop brand and local strategies that drive commercial objectives within the business and identify new areas of growth.
  • Oversee the creation, execution, and evaluation of sophisticated marketing campaigns, effectively targeted through appropriate channels to optimise reach and engagement.
  • Lead and inspire a diverse marketing team, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and professional growth. Set development targets, conduct performance reviews, and cultivate a high-performance culture.
  • Collaborate with the Product, Operations and Clinical teams to integrate marketing strategies with product development and operational capabilities.
  • Facilitate seamless communication and project coordination across various departments within Bupa. Align marketing efforts with broader Bupa initiatives,leveraging the strength of the Bupa brand to enhance dental marketing strategies and drive cohesive, impactful campaigns across the organisation.
  • Manage the marketing budget with a focus on resources allocation to maximise return on investment and ensure optimal use of technologies and digital resources to enhance marketing productivity and effectiveness.
  • Monitor and analyse market trends and campaign performance, providing business leaders with regular reports to on the effectiveness and insights for future planning.
  • Ensure all marketing activities comply with industry regulations and ethical standards, upholding and conveying Bupaโ€™s core values and mission through all marketing materials and campaigns.
  • Identify opportunities for new market penetration and product offerings based on market research and trends, driving innovation in marketing techniques and tools to keep Bupa Dental Care at the forefront of the dental care industry.
  • Establish and lead a comprehensive retention strategy, focusing on communication and engagement with the existing patient base. Develop and implement strategies to grow the business through enhancing patient loyalty and maximising the lifetime value of current patients.
Skills/Experience
  • A Bachelorโ€™s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field, with a Masterโ€™s degree in a relevant discipline being highly advantageous.
  • Strong experience in engaging with senior stakeholders and business leaders, influencing key business decisions and driving growth through effective marketing strategies.
  • Significant marketing experience, including substantial time in a senior management or leadership role within a marketing department. Proven track record in developing and executing successful marketing strategies in a healthcare, service, or retail environment, demonstrating strong leadership and strategic vision.
  • Extensive experience managing multi-channel marketing campaigns and overseeing a marketing team, with previous responsibility for a marketing budget and demonstrated ability to use resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Experience in the healthcare sector, particularly in dental care or related fields, is highly desirable, along with familiarity with the needs and regulatory environment of multi-site operations such as dental practices or healthcare clinics.
  • Strong command of digital marketing tools and platforms, including CRM software, digital analytics, and content management systems, coupled with expertise in market research, data analysis, and turning insights into actionable marketing strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategic plans that align with business objectives and drive market growth. Proven track record in leading complex marketing projects and campaigns from conception through to completion, showcasing the ability to deliver high-impact results.
