Job Overview
The NHS East Midlands GP School seeks a Head of School for General Practice to lead and develop its postgraduate program, primarily for Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, but with responsibilities across the region. Reporting to the Primary Care Dean, the role focuses on advancing learner supervision, assessment, support, and educational outcomes. Heads of School are also encouraged to foster multi-professional education, innovative curriculum delivery, and engage in workforce well-being strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage a team of Associate Postgraduate Deans within the East Midlands.
Develop and implement strategies for the improvement of educational and clinical outcomes within the GP School.
Liaise with the Foundation School, recruit GP placements, and support the Foundation Schoolโs program.
Contribute to the NHS vision of delivering high-quality services and patient care through education and training leadership.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to support workforce well-being, quality assurance of training, and the NHSโs strategic goals.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Primary clinical healthcare qualification.
Membership/Fellowship in a College, Faculty, or professional association.
Educational qualification (e.g., postgraduate certificate, diploma, or Masterโs in Medical Education).
Demonstrable experience in clinical and educational leadership and innovation.
Experience in recruitment, selection, and equality and diversity practices within the last three years.
Knowledge of NHS structures and workforce development.
Skills and Attributes

Additional Information
Visa Sponsorship: Available through the NHS Skilled Worker route, provided Home Office requirements are met.
Salary Currency: GBP (pro rata for part-time)
