An opportunity has arisen for a Healthcare Assistant to join our team on Women’s Outpatients Department at the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle.

Within the department we have specialist clinics including, Hysteroscopy, Colposcopy, Early Pregnancy, Fertility and Gynaecological Oncology clinics amongst others.

The ideal candidate will thrive in this caring, interesting environment. We welcome applicants from all areas of healthcare. The successful candidate will work Monday – Friday between the hours of 08:00-18:30.

Main duties of the job

Assist qualified nurses in providing high quality patient care.

Contributes to the work of the department by working under direct supervision in specialist clinics and indirect supervision for gynaecology clinics.

Prepares notes for clinics and return after clinic.

Maintain patient privacy and dignity at all times and provide care in a compassionate and sensitive manner

When trained and deemed competent, undertake clinical activities using appropriate equipment e.g ECGs, Venepuncture, processing histology samples.

Contributes to housekeeping duties for the department e.g ordering stock, putting stock away, cleaning duties, topping up and general tidiness.
