Job Overview

The NHS has committed to improving the lives of autistic individuals and people with a learning disability by providing more housing options, including those who can become highly distressed or vulnerable. The Senior Housing Manager will support health and social care commissioners and housing providers across the Yorkshire and Humber region to enhance housing options for these individuals. This role will involve strategic planning, developing partnerships, and ensuring housing solutions are available, particularly for individuals delayed in hospital or at risk of hospital admission due to housing issues.

Main Duties

Strategic Collaboration: Work with local health and social care commissioners and housing partners to assess housing needs and contribute to market position statements and local housing strategies.

National NHS Capital Programme: Communicate available NHS capital resources to commissioners and housing providers, helping to identify and utilize these resources effectively.

Discharge Planning: Assist commissioners in identifying suitable accommodation for individuals where housing is a barrier to hospital discharge or an admission to hospital.

Support ICBs: Work directly with Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) to help identify housing options for patients delayed in hospitals.

Key Qualifications

Education: Must be educated to a master’s level or equivalent experience working at a senior level in a relevant, specialist area.

Skills: Ability to identify risks, develop solutions, and resolve problems related to service delivery and housing projects.

Experience: Proven experience in supported housing delivery or commissioning, and the ability to present reports and demonstrate progress in housing delivery.

Other Details

Contract Type: Fixed term (11 months), secondment opportunity for current NHS employees

Salary: ยฃ62,215 – ยฃ72,293 per annum

Flexible Working: The role offers full-time hours (37.5 hours/week) with flexible working options.

Visa Sponsorship: Available for eligible international candidates through the Skilled Worker route if Home Office requirements are met.
