Job Purpose
Within this role the candidate will promote ACPL’s values and mission while following established policies and procedures. The Marketing Coordinator is an internal library position that is responsible for developing and implementing marketing and advertising strategies that promote the library and strengthen library relevancy in the community. This position is a full-time, 40 hours per week, benefitted position including.
The main responsibility of the Marketing Coordinator is to oversee the library’s marketing efforts across multiple print and digital platforms. A successful Marketing Coordinator is highly creative and meticulously detail oriented, and knows how to use a variety of marketing tools to communicate with our community in ways that generate excitement about the library. This position requires comprehensive knowledge of content, digital and print marketing, and a commitment to serve library teams. Success is measured by effective work methods, strong teamwork.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions of the Job/Responsibilities
- Promotes Library programs and services using current and appropriate communication channels, including but not limited to press releases, displays, presentations, brochures, photos, and social media; while continuing to explore new channels to ensure Library promotions reach a wide audience.
- Develops marketing campaigns and materials for programs, events, services, collections, and successes; seeking out relevant media to reach target audiences.
- Maintain a regular presence on social media platforms through the creation of original content.
- Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of library marketing tools including Canva, Constant Contact, Wowbrary, Wordpress, and other media platforms.
- Ensure monthly email newsletters and created and published on schedule.
- Lead the Marketing Team to ensure best practices for diverse content creations guidelines.
- Work with the Library Director and staff to update and maintain the library website, LibGuides, blogs, etc. are updated regularly.
- Oversees the Library marketing plan and its implementation.
- Regularly participate in community engagement activities alongside the Outreach Team.

Skills & Abilities
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
College degree. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a library, marketing, or communications setting. Flexibility in scheduling is required. Proficiency in written and verbal communication is required. Intermediate computer skills are required. Fluency in Spanish is preferred. Ability to stand for extended periods of time, reach the top and bottom of shelves, lift 40lbs as well as push and pull loaded book carts is required.
