Overview:

The role of National Specialist Advisor – Pathology (Point of Care & Phlebotomy) involves providing expert clinical and professional advice to the Diagnostics Recovery & Transformation Programme within the NHS. This program is the NHS’s largest investment initiative, aiming to enhance diagnostic service models, recover elective care, and improve cancer performance.

Key responsibilities include:

Driving improvements in point of care testing and phlebotomy services.

Supporting commissioning and implementation efforts across England.

Advising on pathology service delivery models, workforce sustainability, and health inequality reduction.

Engaging with national bodies, societies, and trusts to ensure project success.

This part-time (7.5 hours/week) fixed-term role (until 31-Mar-2025) is ideal for experienced clinical practitioners with expertise in pathology, offering an opportunity to contribute to transformative healthcare changes on a national scale.
