Job Description
The Project Support Officer will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of projects under the South West Health and Justice Team portfolio. The role involves working closely with NHS bodies, the Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS), Public Health, and healthcare providers to ensure robust governance, efficient use of resources, and effective project outcomes. This position will contribute to improving healthcare services, reducing health inequalities, and supporting sexual assault and abuse service commissioners within the team.
The successful candidate will be based in the Bristol office with the flexibility to travel across the South West region. They will work in-person for at least 40% of their time, ensuring hands-on involvement in projects and effective collaboration with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Support the commissioning of safe, effective, and value-for-money services within the Health and Justice portfolio.
Assist in reducing health inequalities for individuals in touch with Health and Justice services.
Provide focused project support, particularly for Sexual Assault and Abuse Services.
Ensure accurate communication, project planning, and resource monitoring.
Draft correspondence, reports, and analysis to support governance and project delivery.
Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes for patients and communities.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
Proven experience in project or financial management and supporting change processes.
Commitment to reducing health inequalities.
Desirable:
Strategic thinking and the ability to connect work with patient benefits.
Experience in stakeholder management and evaluating healthcare services.
