Job Overview:
The NHS is seeking an exceptional individual to fill the role of Training Programme Director (TPD) for Psychiatry of Learning Disabilities for North London. This is a Fixed-Term Contract position, lasting until 31/05/2025. The successful candidate will oversee the regional training programme for the specialty and ensure it aligns with national standards and guidelines, especially those from the Royal College and within the Psychiatry of Learning Disabilities field. This role requires working closely with key stakeholders, including the Postgraduate Dean, other TPDs, and various NHS teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the Regional Training Programme for Psychiatry of Learning Disabilities.
Manage various aspects of postgraduate education, including recruitment, assessments, trainee progression, rotations, and remediation.
Ensure that the programme meets the national standards set by the Royal College and other relevant professional bodies.
Provide leadership and support to trainees, ensuring they receive the necessary guidance for their professional development.
Collaborate with the Head of School, other TPDs, and key departments within the NHS to ensure quality delivery of education and training.
Work on recruitment and career support for trainees, including managing less than full-time training, inter-deanery transfers, and academic training.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced NHS Consultant with a thorough understanding of training in Psychiatry of Learning Disabilities. You should have:

Salary & Benefits:
The salary is paid in line with TPD sessional payments, based on part-time hours.
The position is part-time (0.5 session per week, equivalent to 2 hours per week).
Staff recruited from outside the NHS may be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.
Visa sponsorship may be available for eligible applicants, subject to Home Office requirements.
Additional Information:
