Job Overview:

The Barnet Emergency Department seeks passionate, motivated, and dynamic Band 5 Registered Nurses to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to work in an integrated Urgent Care Centre, collaborating with Emergency Nurse Practitioners and GPs to provide care for patients with both minor injuries and acute conditions. A comprehensive induction program tailored to individual professional needs will support new staff, along with various opportunities for professional development and leadership training.

Main Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective care.

Participate in rotational shifts to support patient care needs and maintain a healthy work-life balance through self-rostering options.

Support service improvement initiatives and adhere to audit requirements and quality standards.

Participate in internal courses, including the accredited Emergency Care Course (Level 6 and Level 7), and have opportunities to rotate into the childrenโ€™s Emergency Department.

Engage in ongoing professional development and leadership training, including NHS Leadership Academy and UCL Partners programs.

Person Specification:

Essential:

First Level Nursing Registration.

Demonstrated commitment to professional development and awareness of infection control standards.

Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage workload effectively.

Strong communication skills, teamwork abilities, and proficiency in digital systems.

Understanding of risk management, safety standards, and audit processes.

Desirable:

Previous experience in emergency nursing.

Qualification in teaching or mentorship or a willingness to work towards it.

Knowledge and experience with quality improvement and leadership skills development.
