Overview:
Aston University is seeking a Research Excellence Officer to join our dynamic Research Services team. This role will support our commitment to research excellence and contribute to Astonโs new Strategy for 2030, which emphasizes inclusivity, entrepreneurship, and transformation. The Research Excellence Officer will play an essential role in preparing for the next Research Excellence Framework (REF) and will help develop systems, processes, and reporting tools to advance Astonโs research goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with the Research Data and Systems Manager and other team members to optimize research management systems.
Contribute to the development of dashboards and reporting tools that align with Astonโs strategic research objectives.
Ensure effective implementation of processes that support Astonโs REF submission.
Engage in planning and organizational activities that improve research system utilization across the university.
Requirements:
Proven experience with research systems and a successful track record in similar roles.
Strong organizational and planning skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-focused environment.
Location:
This position is based at Aston Universityโs John Cadbury House, with dynamic working arrangements that may include a mix of on-campus and remote work.

Salary ranging from ยฃ30,505 to ยฃ35,880 per annum (Grade 07).
