Senior Programme Manager

Job Overview:

The Senior Programme Manager will be part of the iUEC Hospitals Policy Team within the Integrated Urgent and Emergency Care Directorate. The role focuses on developing and implementing hospital policies to support the delivery of the UEC recovery plan, with an emphasis on improving patient flow through acute hospitals. The position involves leading national policy initiatives, managing complex change programmes, and collaborating with key stakeholders across the NHS to drive transformational improvements in hospital pathways.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading the development of hospital policies and best practice resources.

Collaborating with NHS Trusts, Regions, ICBs, and other stakeholders to implement high-quality, clinically driven policies.

Interpreting and leveraging data for decision-making and policy formulation.

Managing interdependencies across various programmes while ensuring strategic alignment.

The ideal candidate should have experience in acute hospitals and the urgent and emergency care pathway, a strong background in policy development, and the ability to lead transformational change within the healthcare sector.
