Role Overview

The NHS is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Software Engineer to work on critical technology platforms such as the Model Hospital/Model Health Service and other improvement products. This role focuses on designing, developing, and delivering innovative solutions to enable NHS Trusts to improve operational productivity, quality, safety, and efficiency. The Senior Software Engineer will play a key role in shaping and enhancing the NHS’s technology ecosystem, working with tools like C#, .NET Core, React, SQL Server, and Azure in a collaborative and flexible work environment.

Main Responsibilities

Lead the delivery of applications and Business Intelligence outputs for NHS improvement products.

Deliver regular product releases while ensuring data updates are robust, quality-assured, and timely.

Mentor and advise development team members on best practices and technical strategies.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure technical solutions align with NHS goals.

Use advanced knowledge of cloud-based applications and development tools to enhance NHS technology platforms.

Key Skills and Attributes

Expertise in software development, particularly with C#, .NET Core, MVC, and React.

Strong skills in SQL Server, including writing efficient T-SQL statements and resolving performance issues.

Experience in DevOps ownership, encompassing application architecture, operations, and continuous improvement.

Proven ability to mentor teams, fostering a learning culture that emphasizes patterns and practices.
