This is an exciting opportunity within the NHS, offering a fixed-term, part-time role (15 hours per week) for a Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) Clinical Champion/Fellow. The successful candidate will join the Healthcare Inequalities Improvement Programme (HIIP) to support the delivery of the Sickle Cell Disease Thalassaemia Quality Improvement Project (SCD Thal QiP). The role is integral in improving healthcare for individuals with sickle cell disease (SCD) and thalassaemia by working on a range of clinical and quality improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing clinical expertise to guide and challenge the proposed approaches of the SCD Thal QiP team.

Reviewing and advising on funding proposals for local improvements.

Developing educational resources to support the development of expert patients.

Participating in drafting responses to key stakeholders such as DHSC.

The role involves collaborating with various clinical leads and stakeholders across the NHS to improve access, experience, and outcomes for patients with SCD and thalassaemia. The post holder will also contribute to the reduction of health inequalities, ensuring the NHS delivers high-quality services that meet the needs of diverse communities.
