Job Description

At PayPal (NASDAQ: PYPL), we believe that every person has the right to participate fully in the global economy. Our mission is to democratize financial services to ensure that everyone, regardless of background or economic standing, has access to affordable, convenient, and secure products and services to take control of their financial lives.

Job Summary: We are looking for a Senior Content Designer to join our checkout experience team within PayPal.

Meet our Team:

At PayPal, Content Designers work side by side with UX Designers, Product Owners, and UX Researchers to create customer experiences that empower people and businesses financially around the world. As part of the merchant experience team, you’ll craft content for businesses small and large. Your work will help merchants attract and retain customers, get insights into their sales, and run their operations more smoothly.

Your Way to Impact:

You’re the ideal candidate if you’re a seasoned writer who is also a design thinker and customer champion. You can write just about anything, but you thrive in using words to solve problems and simplifying technical jargon into conversational language. You’re a holistic and strategic thinker. Not only do you focus on details, but you can also zoom out and understand the end-to-end experience. We’d love to hear about any experience you have in checkout flows and complex merchant integrations. You’re excited and self-driven to work in a fast-paced, high-tech environment, where you can work independently and in groups. You’re tireless in challenging the status quo, you demand excellence for your customers, and you’re fearless in presenting your brilliant content strategies to stakeholders and leaders.

Your Day to Day:

Plan and write content for web and mobile experiences (across all touch points including navigation and user interface copy, emails, in-app notifications, chatbots, and help).
Transform global product requirements into a strategy for how you will use content to meet business goals and solve real customer problems.
Present your work and articulate your approach to teammates, product owners, and other stakeholders.
Collaborate with Design on page layout, interactions, and visual tone.
Coordinate content with Brand, Marketing and Operations teams to ensure we create a consistent end-to-end experience.
Use data and research to evaluate your content’s impact, and push for continuous improvement that shows real results.
Maintain and evolve PayPal’s content standards, including voice and tone.
Learn a lot, make an impact, have fun.

What You Need to Bring:

A successful candidate will have at least 4+ years of experience writing strategic content for interactive user experiences as part of a product design team.
Experience working with content standards, such as style and voice and tone guidelines.
Experience contributing to multiple projects, setting stakeholder expectations, working individually and collaborating across teams.
Excellent, highly creative writing and critical-thinking skills.
Experience in financial services, payments, B2B or B2C e-commerce is preferred.
A Bachelors or Master’s Degree in a related field is preferred but not required.

We know the confidence gap and imposter syndrome can get in the way of meeting spectacular candidates. Please don’t hesitate to apply.
