Overview:

As a Registered Nurse (Band 5) at Barnet Hospital, part of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, you will join a dynamic team committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in the Emergency Department. This role provides an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate nurse to work in a fast-paced environment, focusing on both acute care and minor injuries through the integrated Urgent Care Centre. You will contribute to providing a responsive, efficient service in a setting renowned for supporting career growth and professional development.

Main Responsibilities:

Delivering safe, effective, and compassionate care to acutely unwell patients in collaboration with Emergency Nurse Practitioners and GPs.

Managing patient assessments, administering medications, and planning individualized care.

Participating in the department’s comprehensive induction and emergency care courses, with additional training in pediatric emergency care if interested.

Maintaining high standards of infection control, quality, and safety.

Utilizing self-rostering and flexible working options to support a healthy work-life balance.

Mentoring and supervising junior and unregistered staff as required.

Contributing to service improvement and audit initiatives within the department.

Key Requirements:

Active First Level Registration with the NMC.

Evidence of recent professional development.

Post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting, with knowledge of infection control standards and audit/quality procedures.

Effective communication skills, a proactive approach to teamwork, and the ability to lead service improvements.

Career Development:

Salary & Benefits:

Salary: ยฃ34,521 – ยฃ41,956 per annum, inclusive of High-Cost Area Supplement (HCAS).

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours per week).
