Staff Nurse – Cardiology – Band 5

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Band 5 Staff Nurse to join the Cardiology Department at University Hospitals Birmingham. As a centre of excellence for cardiac care, our hospitals offer modern cardiology services and a patient-focused approach to nursing. This role includes working in the cardiac catheter lab and requires participation in weekend/overnight on-call duties, with flexibility to work across three hospital sites.

Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Support the cardiac catheter lab operations and provide specialized cardiology nursing care.

Collaborate with acute medical teams, patients, and families to share knowledge and expertise.

Maintain compliance with NMC standards and NHS policies.

Qualifications:

Registered Adult Nurse on the NMC Register.

Evidence of recent acute care experience within the NHS or during student placements (past 12 months).

Knowledge of safeguarding, preceptorship, and work-based learning principles.
