Main duties of the job
The Data Platform Engineering team is responsible for managing the application of the Engineering Quality Framework to the platforms and technology services delivered by Data Platforms, whilst also contributing the ongoing development of the framework.โ
Members of the team are assigned into multi-disciplinary delivery teams working across Platforms and within transformational programmes. Data Platforms provides the operational run & sustain of all existing platforms, including UDAL, DPS, CDP, SUS+, SDE, and other legacy platforms.

All NHS England Systems Engineer personnel must hold security clearance SC level as a minimum. To meet National Security Vetting requirements, you must have resided in the UK for a minimum of 3 out of the past 5 years for SC clearance. Candidates who were posted abroad for service with HM Government, Armed Forces or within a UK government role – will still be considered. Please make sure you meet these requirements before applying for this role. You donโt need to have SC already, however, failure to achieve the requirements for SC after offer, will result in the job offer being withdrawn.

Experience and understanding of operational considerations (PARRISSS) as part of system architecture & design, namely Performance, Availability, Recoverability, Reliability, Integrity, Security, Scalability and Serviceability.
Experienced in identifying and documenting both functional and non-functional requirements for a large application or suite of applications.
Designs, codes, tests, corrects and documents large and/or complex programs and program modifications from supplied specifications using agreed standards and tools, to achieve a well-engineered result.
Takes part in reviews of own work and leads reviews of colleagues’ work.
Knowledge

Shares knowledge with others in team by presenting back to the team on technical investigations, and areas of technical specialism.
