The Stopford Undergraduate Teaching Laboratories (SUGT) is a large suite of labs which supports practical teaching for all undergraduate students within the Faculty of Biology, Medicine & Health.
This is an exciting opportunity for a hardworking individual with a good scientific background to be contributing to a service which values the student experience above all else. The main purpose of the role is to provide technical support as required, as well as to ensure that the equipment and consumables required for delivery of our practical sessions is well stocked & maintained and available as required, depending on the skills being taught. Housekeeping will also be an important aspect of the role.
N.B. The role is a 2-year fixed term position, pending the outcome of a review of the technical service provision across the Faculty. The post is term-time only (39 weeks per year), so pay is paid pro-rata.
As this role involves research at a postgraduate level, applicants who are not an EEA national or a national of an exempt country and who will require sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route of the UK Visas and Immigrationโs (UKVI) Points Based System in order to take up the role, will be required to apply for an Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) Certificate and will need to obtain this prior to making any official visa application UKVI)
