Overview

The Training Programmes Administrator role is integral to the Programmes Team within the Workforce Training and Education Midlands Regional Directorate at NHS England. The team oversees the rotational placements of postgraduate doctors, ensuring accurate records of their posts, placements, and personal details. Each administrator manages a portfolio of specialties, updates placement information, processes applications, and responds to daily queries.

This role requires excellent communication skills for effective coordination with Training Programme Directors (TPDs) and Medical Staffing teams in training hospitals. Attention to detail and a strong focus on data quality are essential, as errors can impact doctorsโ€™ hospital assignments or payments.

The administrator will handle rotation updates, process time-sensitive applications (e.g., less-than-full-time requests or breaks in training), and manage a busy email inbox. Diplomacy and problem-solving are key skills, especially during busy rotation periods in April/May and October/November.

This position supports the NHS’s overarching goals of creating a positive, compassionate, and inclusive workplace while ensuring the delivery of high-quality healthcare services. NHS England encourages flexible working arrangements to balance individual needs with organizational goals.

The role can be based in either Birmingham (23 Stephenson Street, B2 4HQ) or Leicester (County Hall, Glenfield, LE3 8RA).
