Workforce Innovation Senior Manager – Band 8b

Job Overview:

The Workforce Innovation Senior Manager will lead and manage innovation functions for the Workforce, Training, and Education directorate at NHS England. The role focuses on driving innovation across the workforce sector in the East of England, supporting regional priorities, and facilitating the development of system workforce plans through education innovation and transformation. The post holder will work closely with managers and staff across the sector to deliver effective services and innovative solutions to workforce challenges.

Key responsibilities include managing innovation activities, budgets, and staffing, while developing and implementing strategy and operational policies to promote innovation. The role also involves collaborating with national and regional policymakers, identifying best practices, and championing new initiatives to enhance workforce capacity. The post holder will support systems in optimizing workforce strategies, driving organizational change, and ensuring the NHS benefits from innovations in healthcare.

Additionally, the role requires leadership in managing transformation initiatives, promoting equality, and working collaboratively across teams and partners to drive service improvements. This position is based in Cambridge, with a commitment to flexible working arrangements where possible.
