Baycrest is an academic health sciences centre providing a continuum of care for older adults, including independent living, assisted living, long-term care and a post-acute hospital specializing in the care of older adults all within one campus.
We are a global leader in geriatric residential living, healthcare, research, innovation and education, with a special focus on brain health and aging.
Clinical services at the Baycrest Hospital, Ben and Hilda Katz Building, offer a full spectrum of specialized inpatient care services for the older adult population, from inpatient to ambulatory rehabilitation patient needs.
The Apotex Centre, Jewish Home for the Aged is a long-term care facility which provides a range of residential and specialized programs.
The Baycrest Terraces retirement residence provides older adults with an assisted living option with the privacy of independent living, along with supportive services.
The Reuben Cipin Healthy Living Community is our independent living residence for active and independent older adults aged 65-plus, owned and operated by Baycrest.
Baycrest is also home to a robust research and innovation network, including:
- One of the world’s top research institutes in cognitive neuroscience, the Rotman Research Institute;
- The scientific headquarters of the Canadian Consortium on Neurodegeneration in Aging, Canada’s largest national dementia research initiative;
- The Baycrest-powered Centre for Aging + Brain Health Innovation, a solution accelerator focused on driving innovation in the aging and brain health sector
- Fully affiliated with the University of Toronto, Baycrest provides excellent care for older adults combined with an extensive clinical training program for the next generation of healthcare professionals.
