Services
WSFT provides a range of services, including acute hospital services, community health care, and specialist services. The hospital has an emergency department, maternity and neonatal services, a day surgery unit, and an eye unit.

Location
WSFT serves a population of around 280,000 people in a rural area of roughly 600 square miles. The main site is the 430-bed West Suffolk Hospital, which is located on the outskirts of Bury St Edmunds.

Teaching hospital
WSFT is an associate teaching hospital of the University of Cambridge.
