Department: Women’s Care Clinic

Summary:

Provide gynecological care, family planning advice and prenatal care from puberty to menopause. Provide advice, care and support for women and their partners and families before, during and after childbirth.

Work Schedule: Full Time Rotating (40 hours/week)

Responsibilities:

  • Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Plans, implements and evaluates patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
  • Performs appropriate emergency interventions and manages complications.
  • Provides education/counseling to patient and patient’s family with respect to pregnancy, childbirth, care of the newborn, contraception, family planning, and gynecological care.

Provides care in the context of promoting age and culture-appropriate informed choices, shared decision-making and the right to self-determination.

Within the scope of the job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

Minimum Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and graduate of an accredited Nurse-Midwifery program.

Required Licensure/Certification: Certified Nurse Midwife. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider.

Minimum Experience: None Required. Preferred: At least 2 years of Certified Nurse Midwife experience.

BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with a card in hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association-sanctioned course.)

The pay range for this position is $48.87 – $75.74 / hour. Pay is dependent on the applicant’s relevant experience.

An annual bonus may be paid to eligible employees based on organizational and individual performance.
