Content Designer (Communications)

  • Role type: Temporary (12 months) opportunity with the possibility of extension or conversion to ongoing
  • Salary: Clerk Grade 7/8 – this package includes a salary range of between $101,947 – $112,849 plus employers’ contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
  • Flexible work arrangements available – the team attends the office approximately 1-2 times per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Content Designer (Communications) to join Digital Strategy, Investment and Assurance (DSIA) – a rapidly growing part of Digital NSW within the Department of Customer Service.

The successful candidate will be an experienced content marketing and / or communications expert and play a key role in delivering and measuring key content across DSIA’s range of campaigns and channels.

This role will give you the opportunity to:

  • Produce written content for customers and external audiences across core channels such as blogs, eDM newsletters, social media and website.
  • Produce internal communication pieces such as powerpoint presentations and speaking notes.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across DSIA, the Department of Customer Service, and government clusters to source and produce new content and maintain a yearly content calendar.
  • Brief the production of content across media releases, video, graphic design, social media and other multimedia.
  • Report on content engagement and conversions across Google Analytics, Campaign Monitor and social media.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Experience in a similar content marketing or communications role with good attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong focus on copywriting.
  • Understanding of content marketing principles.
  • Experience measuring and reporting on content metrics across Google Analytics, social media and eDM platforms such as Campaign Monitor.
  • Experience collaborating with a range of stakeholders to gather and execute communications briefs
  • Experience working with and briefing videographers, graphic designers, social media and media professionals.
  • Experience in developing communications for a range of projects, channels, and audiences.
