As a Project Manager, you will be a key member in the General Manager’s Office and will deliver on business improvement projects. You will collaborate across business units and departments and will utilize various project management techniques. Primary duties include:
  • Drive and facilitate project planning using sequential and iterative methods and best practices (e.g. business cases, charters, work breakdown, detailed workplans and schedules, and risk management).
  • Identify and manage interdependencies with other projects and initiatives.
  • Guide, coach and motivate the team to be highly effective, self-organized, productive and accountable, with an emphasis on achieving commitments.
  • Facilitate communication channels for teams and associated business and technical participants to ensure the vision, goals, progress and product delivery commitments are visible and well understood.
  • Identify and actively work to remove impediments and blockers preventing teams from delivering goals.
  • Mentor, facilitate and refine practices and principles within the project teams.
  • Manage expectations with project team members and project participants.
Qualifications
  • Applicants must possess one of the following combinations of education and experience:
    • A completed 2 year diploma in Business or another relevant diploma and at least 7 years of related work experience as a project manager; OR
    • A degree in Commerce or another relevant degree and at least 5 years of related work experience as a project manager.
  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is considered an asset.
  • Proven significant experience managing multiple highly complex and large-scale projects, which span multiple functions and business groups, and have dependencies with multiple inter-related projects.
  • Success in this position requires you to demonstrate strong facilitation, prioritization, planning and organizing skills in order to meet challenging deadlines.
  • You will have excellent communication skills to prepare and present to a variety of audiences; well-developed consulting, consensus building and facilitation skills, business analysis/project management expertise.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a flexible approach and an ability to lead concurrent teams with multiple participants, including Directors.

Location: 800 Macleod Trail SE
Compensation: Pay Grade 12 $44.20 – 59.09 per hour
Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week with 1day off in a 3 week cycle.
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
