We are looking for a Repairs Operatives to join our in-house Orwell Repairs Service, to carry out day to day responsive repairs and void property works.

Key Responsibilities:

Our Multiskilled Repairs Operative’s key responsibilities include:

  • Working in line with Orwell’s vision of fixing repairs first time, improving quality and providing a positive first response.
  • Working on your own initiative to ensure that ‘call backs’ to repairs are minimised and that ‘fix right first time’ repairs are maximised.
  • Dealing with tenant enquiries professionally and courteously.
  • Liaising closely with Head Office staff in the notification and reporting of repairs progress.

About you:

Our ideal Multiskilled Repairs Operative will…

  • Have good knowledge of general building/construction and experience of general property maintenance.
  • Have knowledge of both Carpentry and Plumbing.
  • Need to be flexible to change your working day to respond to urgent repair needs if required.

 

Due to the nature of this role a full UK Driving Licence is required.

Person Specification…

  • Carpentry & Joinery qualification is desirable.
  • Certificate in Plumbing is desirable.
  • Certificate in Painting & Decorating is desirable.
  • HNC (or equivalent) in Building Studies, is desirable.
