Typical activities

 

The specific details of this role vary, but common activities include:

 

  • Brainstorm story angle with colleagues
  • Write short- and long-form copy and refine until approved, from headlines and subheadings to brief write-ups and case studies
  • Liaise with subject matter experts and other stakeholders to source information, review drafts and finalize content.

  • Collaborate with our Stories team to make the work great
  • Interact with internal marketing stakeholders and other members of the team
  • Maintain high standards and ensure only the best work is released to the stakeholders

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • 5+ years experience in a lead writing or editorial position for publications and/or in-house company writing teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Skills in managing people, projects, and resources
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to inspire your team to give their best
  • Versatile writing skills with a human approach, from headlines and subheadings to brief write-ups and case studies across various digital channels.
  • Proven ability to explain technical concepts and terms in clear, accessible language
  • The foresight to put yourself in the shoes of the audience
  • An awareness of current trends in business and technology
  • Familiarity with technology and how it intersects with industry-specific topics
  • A nose for a good story and a strong hook
  • Confidence to work independently or in a team
  • The ability to keep a cool head and meet deadlines
  • Problem-solving skills
  • The foresight to put yourself in the shoes of the audience
  • Meticulous attention to detail
