An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Architectural Designer to join our team in the Burlington office. Our group currently operates within a hybrid work model with flexibility to work from home.
We are looking for a skilled individual with a passion for design, strong technical expertise, and driven to assist in the delivery of our many Industrial and Infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities of the Role:
  • Prepare full detailed design CAD drawings for a variety of industrial building projects.
  • Drawings include plans, reflected ceilings, elevations, building cross-sections, wall sections, roofing details, finish schedules, door & window schedules, and typical details.
  • Interface with other in-house disciplines (civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical) to ensure architectural drawings incorporated other discipline requirements.
  • Develop and prepare engineering drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets, field information and other data.
  • Prepare drawings for building envelope renovations and repairs.
  • Provide completed drawings for client’s approvals, site plan approvals and to municipalities for building permits.


Qualifications:

  • Diploma of Architectural Technology/Technician from a recognized College.
  • 8 – 10 years’ experience as an Architectural Draftsperson within a consulting engineering firm or architectural office environment.
  • Advanced level of competency with AutoCAD 2D (3D experience would be considered an asset).
  • Good knowledge with Part 3 of the Ontario Building Code.
  • Field experience in review of new construction and evaluation of existing facilities.
  • Proficiency in all MS Office Software (Excel, Word).
  • Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills working with engineers, municipalities, site personnel, and clients.
  • Ability to manage time and deliverables, while prioritizing and executing work assignments.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
