Job Description 

An amazing opening is currently available for an Automation Engineer, who will be based at our port in Corringham.

We are searching for an experienced person who has upgraded systems, added automated features, and maintained equipment systems. Someone with experience in automation engineering or commissioning who wants to advance their skills and career with us.

For this position, we are offering a salary of ÂŁ53,538.41 per annum and the following benefits:

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Continually monitor the performance of ASCs (Automated Stacking Cranes) in order and find/propose ways of continuous improvement.
  • Optimize the performance of ASCs considering operational patterns, business demands, and industry developments.
  • Develop a full understanding of troubleshooting Automatic Stacking cranes
  • Play an active role in the delivery and commissioning of new ASCs
  • Develop an understanding of all automation software in order to troubleshoot PLCs, Drives, and other control systems installed on Automatic Stacking Cranes
  • Troubleshoot control systems from a hardware perspective
  • Ensure that calibration of ASCs is planned and executed on time
  • Monitor computer systems – windows specifically
  • Develop skills to upgrade different automation software installed on ASCs
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new projects to improve equipment monitoring and reliability
  • Provide On-call support during out-of-office hours if needed

Experience & Qualifications:

  • National Qualifications Framework Level 3 or Higher – or equivalent
  • Computer literate with excellent report skills
  • In-depth knowledge of control systems, AC Drives, and programmable logic controllers
  • Minimum 3 years of engineering experience, ideally in a factory environment with automation or PLC-based control systems
