Job Description

An exciting opportunity to guide the future of IT at L+S+H Architects. The role is for a single individual to manage all aspects of IT within the practice (Taking over from our current IT Manager who is retiring). Working with the Director responsible for IT will develop a long-term strategy for how our IT systems work with the changing demands of flexible and remote working.

The role is based at our Hartley Wintney office.

Knowledge of the Architectural / Construction profession is preferable but not essential. Our current IT systems are a combination of cloud-based services and on-site systems.

Full package includes, Base Salary and a Flexible benefits package (Available post probation period).

Approximately 5 years experience of working as a IT Manager or part of a larger IT management group.

Responsibilities

IT Manager Job Purpose

Oversees computer system and software maintenance and repair; assists with computer equipment purchasing and installation; and maintains networks and connectivity for users. Reporting to IT Director and Finance Director.

IT Manager Job Duties

IT Procurement – Support/Hardware/Software/ Consumables

Coordinates training and orientation for new technology users and helps them become familiar with equipment and networks.

Ensures all users benefit from effective technology and efficient Internet access, and continually assesses needs and requirements.

Dealing with unpredicted issues that the team require.

Organises support, troubleshooting, and repair for IT equipment and networks.

Monitors online security for users and networks and takes appropriate steps to address security breaches if necessary.

Establishes relationships with technology and component vendors.

Planning and Implementation of L+S+H IT Strategy.

Preparing, Managing, and updating IT budget (Reporting to Finance and IT Director).

Develops and maintains emergency plans to address equipment, power, or security failure to ensure preservation of technology and data.

Has a thorough understanding of available technology and research to learn about innovative solutions and new releases.

Photocopiers/Printers/Plotter Management. Asset Management.

UPS Systems.

Conference Room Audio /Visual Systems. Telephones.

Disposal of obsolete IT hardware.

Managing Remote working systems (Net Extender)

Knowledge and Skills

IT Manager Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, with 5 years experience of working as an IT Manager or part of a larger IT Management group. Experience with computers and networks, management, written and verbal communication, interpersonal communication, computers, problem solving, decision making, critical thinking, teamwork, attention to detail, working under pressure, ability to meet goals. Detailed knowledge of systems required.

The successful candidate will need to have a good working knowledge of the following systems:

SERVER/CLOUD SYSTEMS

Microsoft Server

Microsoft 365 / Exchange 365

Microsoft Office 365

VMWare – Virtual Environment Firewall Management

Cisco Meraki Network

Barracuda Backup & Email Management Virtual Cabinet – Document Management Data Storage Management

Monitoring back up systems

CLIENT SYSTEMS

(Knowledge of all software packages is advantageous but not essential)

Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Apps, AutoCAD Revit, Sketchup, Enscape, 3D studio Max, Adobe Creative Suite

Virtual Cabinet – Document Management Remote Access Rapport

Net Extender for remote working Managing all accounts, user password etc.

Managing the renewal of all subscriptions
