The post holder will lead and be responsible for the delivery of the Targeted Lung Health Check service across the Hull, North East Lincolnshire and Goole areas with expansion into the East Riding of Yorkshire and North Yorkshire as the screening programme develops.

This role will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective use of resources in delivering a high-quality clinical service to patients.

 The Programme Manager will provide high calibre, professional management and leadership to the Targeted Lung Health Check Service.

They will work closely with a range of system partners including the Humber and North Yorkshire (HNY) Cancer Alliance, including primary care, public health, community services, secondary care, and private providers to develop and implement strategic and operational plans to deliver the Targeted Lung Health Check Programme.

MAIN DUTIES OF THE JOB

The Programme Manager will oversee the day-to-day delivery of the service ensuring all participants receive an efficient, seamless, and high-quality service across the whole pathway.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential criteria

  • Degree level education, preferably in management or equivalent experience
  • Further specialist project management knowledge or experience to masters level equivalent
  • Previous experience in a managerial role
  • Ability to demonstrate substantial staff management and/or clinical leadership experience
  • Ability to demonstrate substantial project management experience
  • Excellent knowledge of current screening programme policies and targets
  • Experience of budget/ delegated budget management
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Able to demonstrate effective and efficient management practice
