Person Specification

We are seeking a confident and interpersonal individual who has a passion for all things hospitality! You will love working with people and will be a positive person with natural leadership skills. You will ideally have previous supervisory experience working within a hospitality setting and will have the skills to motivate a team around you. You will be eager to learn and have the ability to pick up tasks and new skills. You will be confident in speaking with guests and resolving queries quickly and efficiently whilst coaching and empowering the team around you.

The Role

The main objective of the role is to support the Restaurant Manager in the running of the Restaurant, ensuring the guest experience is always to a high standard. To offer supervisory support to the team, helping with training and development of the team and ensuring standards are met at all times. You will be a responsible individual with the ability to run shifts, which would include cash/till management, dealing with any escalated team or guest concerns and directing the team during service.

Your supervisory duties will include supporting with recruitment and HR tasks such as interviewing, onboarding and training new team members. You’ll also uphold and instil the right ethos and culture among the team. The Restaurant Supervisor will handle escalated guest questions, queries and swift complaint resolution. And will carry out general supervisor duties such as admin tasks. You may also be trained as a muti-skilled hotel duty manager and carry out duty management shifts and tasks when required.

Your hands-on duties will help to drive revenue where possible by letting guests know about all products and services available to them, and upselling lunch and/or dinner onto their stay.

Key Responsibilities

Leading and running both lunch and dinner shifts in the absence of the Restaurant General Manager including organising pre-shift briefs for the restaurant team and delegating tasks where necessary
Ensuring a thorough open and close down of the restaurant is complete each time
Ensuring brand standards are met at all times
Cashing up and cash handling responsibilities in line with the Hotels Cash Handling Mandate
Taking restaurant bookings and answering enquiries in a professional and timely mannger
Use of emails in a professional manner
Managing pre-orders for groups of 8 people and more
Maintaining cleanliness of the restaurant at all times
Restocking fridges ensuring at all times stock rotation is adhered to
Ensuring a strong and resilient relationship with the Restaurant and Kitchen team including the management team, whilst maintaining excellent communication and a smooth running of the Restaurant
During supervisory shifts, you will be expected to maintain a close monitor on team members to ensure voids are completed correctly, following the correct procedure; special occasions are catered for, such as providing complimentary anniversary drinks and decorating table accordingly
Hotel duty management shifts and managing escalated customer complaints and queries in a professional manner
Training and coaching new members of the team as well as existing members to ensure high level of customer care is provided in accordance with brand standards
