Our client is part of as multi-billion-pound global organization employing more than 70,000 staff in more than 100 countries and are recognised market leaders in their niche manufacturing sector. As a result of continued success and a recent internal promotion, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced Senior Process Engineer to complement their established and professional team based in either the Rotherham or Woking facilities.

Reporting to the Process Engineering Team Leader, the successful candidate will be primarily office based and tasked with providing detailed process engineering and chemical engineering support and continuous improvement input for both projects and operating sites around the UK and Ireland.

With a demonstrable “hands-on” background in a relevant engineering or manufacturing discipline, as Senior Process Engineer you will provide specifications and scope of work for multiple projects, developing an outline scheme into a detailed project proposal – that could be for an existing site development or a new customer installation including the expanding clean fuels and carbon capture markets.

You will ensure that process safety requirements are identified and incorporated into the design at an early stage and will be responsible for the scoping and delivery of process engineering solutions for site support activities, as well as conducting independent fault finding and problem resolution activities on moderate to high complexity issues, selecting and applying suitable process engineering techniques as appropriate and necessitating travel to site on occasions as required.

You will additionally be responsible for the development of standards for approval within your specialist area of expertise, or as a member of a Team of Experts where necessary – and will deliver solutions both personally or through a matrix of internal engineers, technical and administrative staff and contractors, managing a portfolio of activities on a day-to-day basis and prioritising and managing your workload efficiently.

To be considered for this varied and challenging Senior Process Engineer position it is envisaged that the successful candidate will hold a Chemical Engineering Degree or equivalent and demonstrate at least 8+ years of experience in a comparable role which will have included experience of working on operating sites. It is essential that the successful candidate demonstrates a combination of site-based and solutions-design experience, with the ability to perform design calculations as well as understanding various manufacturing processes in order to be able ask relevant technical questions and deliver practical and efficient solutions, with experience of compressed gases and cylinder filling operations proving distinctly advantageous.
