Minimum qualifications:

  • 12 Early Childhood Education units, California Associate Teacher Child Development Permit, or eligibility for permit.
  • 1 year of experience teaching children, ages 3 months to 6 years.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50lbs, lift children, change diapers, stand/kneel/sit for long periods of time, and climb/move around playground equipment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field.
  • California Master Teacher Child Development Permit or California Teacher Child Development Permit.
  • 3 Infant/Toddler Child Development units.
  • 2 years of experience teaching children, ages 3 months to 6 years.

In the unique educational environment of Google’s children’s centers, you’ll work with both your team and Google parents to continually develop and improve our Employee Child Development program to meet the physical, cognitive, social and emotional needs of children ages 3 months through 5 years. You’re passionate about each child’s personal growth and open to new and innovative methods of teaching, and are familiar with family-focused education that integrates play-based philosophies into the curriculum.

As a Teacher at a Google Children’s Center (GCC), you will work on developing and implementing a curriculum to assess children’s growth through an antiracist lens that builds on the unique stories and qualities of each family. You’ll strive to instill the same love of learning, creativity, and justice in the minds of children as we want to be found among the entire GCC faculty. You will attend work daily, timely, and on a consistent basis to ensure coverage during the full school day and be available to build relationships with children and families.

We’ve developed our Employee Child Development program by building high-quality children’s centers located near our corporate headquarters. These family-focused centers integrate play-based philosophies into the curriculum. This program includes small group size and staff continuity, and is designed to meet the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional needs of children ages 3 months through 5 years.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $48,000-$57,500 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Provide responsive, relationship-based care and create a stimulating environment for children. Develop creative and age-appropriate activities based on child’s interests.
  • Build and grow partnerships with parents, including parent communication and involvement. Create a grow environments for play and exploration for children.
  • Work in a collaborative relationship with other staff in classroom and with a management team.
  • Perform regular maintenance/cleaning tasks (e.g., arranging the classroom and the yard each evening and morning, moving light weight furniture, picking up toys, picking up boxes, emptying the contents, breaking down boxes).
  • Adhere to procedures related to supervision, boundaries, and safety of children at all times. Follow mandated reporting requirements as stated by California licensing and best practices.
