Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Operations – Centennial College School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts, (SHTCA) the incumbent is responsible for the administration and support of the department’s strategic operations as instructed by their direct manager and school management.

The incumbent will play an important role in delivering the strategic goals and initiatives determined by the school’s management particularly around Strategic Enrolment Management (SEM), recruitment and student admission and conversion activities. The incumbent will oversee key marketing and student information processes. Will be involved in registration and student communication projects and efforts and will play a lead role in the maintaining and deploying of the web presence for SHTCA as well as other social and online platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and organizes SHTCA Marketing and recruitment materials and maintains electronic and hard-copy filing systems to ensure efficient retrieval and utilization. Creates infographic and poster materials for a range of purposes.
  • Takes an active, leading role in coordinating the operations of SHTCA’s SEM processes, events and communications. Facilitates administrative functions of Student Events such as Orientation, Program Information Sessions, School and College Open Houses and Student appreciation Week
  • Facilitates administrative functions of College recruitment activities. Manages logistics of High School tours, College fairs, SCWI events and other opportunities to engage with potential new Domestic students.
  • Facilitates administrative functions of coordinating SEM activities and recruitment strategies with regional international departments such as Information webinars, recruitment events, preparedness seminars, marketing initiatives and all other activities designed to recruit, grow and diversify the international student enrolment of SHTCA
  • Works proactively on active applicant contact and conversion activities through communication strategies
  • Provide information on full-time programs, courses, college/school support services, academic policies and procedures, relevant College policies and procedures to stakeholders.
  • Respond to student inquiries, student needs, student concerns/complaints in a respectful customer-sensitive and appropriate manner, while following policy, process and procedure.
  • Provide Front Desk Coverage when needed.
  • Engage in Registration operations actively during start-up each semester including data retrieval and analysis; applying information and using Banner, mycentennial and other resources to the resolution of student registration issues for all SHTCA Administration stakeholders.
  • Provides reports, updates, and reviews for program/course/faculty/students using resources such as AISMARtr, Banner, e-centennial and mycentennial.
  • Oversees maintenance and updating of school, program and course marketing materials and campaigns
  • Responsibility for maintenance and editing of the web presence for all programs within department area
  • Responsible for all online presence related to school including, but not limited to, Centennial central, staff profiles and accuracy, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram, and any other social media presence for the SHTCA.
  • Coordination of the department’s scholarships, awards and bursaries.

 

Qualifications/Experience

  • Two (2) year diploma in Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts, Business Administration or Technology or an combination of relevant education and practical work experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of responsible administrative support experience in an environment in which communications, use of computer programs and ability to work under pressure were critical
  • Experience with delivering presentations to diverse audiences
  • Excellent computer skills, ability to provide in-house leadership in this area.
  • Strong relationship building and communication skills to develop rapport with various internal and external stakeholders
  • Sales and persuasion skills
  • Sound problem solving skills with the independently resolve routine issues within the parameters of policies and past practices
  • Proven ability to work under pressure while dealing with people in a courteous manner
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of working effectively in a diverse environment with an awareness and sensitivity to the requirements of our diverse student population
