Position Title: Business Operations Manager
Status: Full Time Admin
Hours:ย 37.5 hrs/wk
Faculty/Department: Barrett Centre for Technology Innovation
Campus/Location:ย North
Salary:ย $82,728 (Min) to $124,092 (Max)

What you will do:
Under the direction of the Director, for the Barrett Centre for Technology Innovation, the Business Operations Manager provides overall administration, operating and financial support, development, and support services delivery to the Barrett CTI in an efficient and timely manner. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: managing financial planning, budgeting and forecast process, human resources activities (preparing contracts for training and staffing, supervision and management of P/T, F/T staffing, STEM and work study-students), management and supervision of the BCTI Reception; accurate โ€œon-boarding and off-boardingโ€ of all full-time and part-time employees; co-ordination and management of all Facilities and IT requests, overseeing BCTI RMS reservation process and deployment; management and co-ordination of procurement processes to support BCTI operations; managing existing and new partnership agreements, including reporting on financial and deliverables tracking; overseeing BCTI website and marketing contents. Due to the nature of operations in the Barrett CTI, this is a full-time, in person position.


What you bring to the role:

Education/Professional Designation
  • The successful candidate will have a post-secondary degree in Business Management or a related discipline
  • Accreditation in Project Management (PMP, PMI) preferred

Experience & Skills

  • 5-8 years combined academia and industry experience.
  • 5 years proven business operations experience
  • Broad knowledge of post-secondary education
  • Ability to communicate and work with Industry
  • Demonstrated effective fiscal responsibility in addressing cost management challenges
  • Proven experience in forecasting and budgeting
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate staff and teams
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with ability to foster trust, cooperation, and collaboration
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage diverse relationships
  • Fiscal and financial acumen
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation)
