What we’re doing

We’re building state-of-the-art AI coaching technology.

Our goal is to revolutionize coaching in sports – eSports and the real world – by leveraging the latest in data and AI, making coaching affordable and accessible to every child, hobbyist, and athlete. We’re starting in gaming and eSports, then taking our technology to the next level in the real world.

Things you’ll do

• Develop AI Coaching for Gamers. We’re using the latest techniques in AI and analytics to deliver coaching to gamers through video feedback, voice assistants, statistical reports, and more. You’ll be developing the heart of that feedback.

• Build Bots, Models, Leverage LLM, and More. We’re early in the stages of our AI development. We’re exploring a variety of techniques to deliver the best coaching and training solutions to gamers. Those include reinforcement learning, deep neural networks, good ol’ statistics, and more! You’ll help shape our technologies and vision.

• Study and Understand Games. You’ll be studying games, understanding their underlying strategies and mechanics, and using this knowledge to build and deliver insights to gamers.
• Play Games. Lots of playing video games (Racing and Rocket League to start) and testing your AI’s feedback!
• Collaborate. We’re big on collaboration. You’ll partner with cross-functional engineering and product teams to help everyone understand what can be done and see how we can best deliver on what the gamers want.
• Live in St. John’s, NL. You live or are willing to relocate to St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.

Tech you’ll use

• Python, SciPy, NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and AWS Sage.
• We are constantly researching new methods and approaches for integrating AI solutions into our product and you’ll be a big part of those decisions.

Things you’ll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 or more years of professional experience in data analysis, predictive modelling, ML, DNN, etc.
• Proficiency in Python programming language, with experience utilizing popular data science libraries such as NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and Keras for data manipulation, analysis, and modelling.
• Proficient in data visualization and reporting, with experience using tools such as Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly, or Tableau for generating insights and effectively communicating results to stakeholders.
• Experience developing, validating, and implementing machine learning models, including regression, classification, clustering, and recommendation algorithms.
• The capability of extracting and processing data from SQL and NoSQL stores.
• A keen eye for performance improvements. We’re focused on helping players improve in games. You’ll need to love digging into the details of strategy, tactics, and mechanics of games.
• Curiosity about our problem domain and an analytical approach.
• A deep love of video games.

Bonus skills you might have

• Experience applying machine learning algorithms in a large-scale production setting.
• Advanced knowledge of 2D and 3D mathematics, including computational geometry, linear algebra, and vector calculus, with the ability to apply these concepts to data-driven projects and analyses.
• Expertise in deploying machine learning models in production environments, with experience using cloud-based platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.
